SEKISUI : SOF

SOF is PE or PP in an elongated tape form. It can be biaxial (lengthwise/widthwise) or tri-axial, (widthwise/diagonally crossed). Since it had a grid shape it can reinforce a variety of materials.

SOF Characteristics

● It doesn't deform like cloth or have any have any mechanical weaknesses. Instead, it displays the full strength of the tape material

● As there is no deformation or warping at the grid intersections, SOF has superior elastic strength

● It can supplied in relatively small lots and short lead times

● It releases no harmful compounds when incinerated

● It contains no hazardous materials as defined by regulatory standards

Reinforcement material made of PE or PP tape formed into a grid.
Since it has superior flatness it does not add bulk when two materials are laminated together, making it appropriate for bag-making.

Application
SOF's transparency is utilized in making golf bags, handbags, and packaging for export products. New applications are expected in the packaging and logistics fields.

Hot Melt Type
This type is single layer polyolefin film whose grid intersections are attached with hot melt adhesives. This type is economical and shows superior elastic strength.

Fused Type
3 layer polyolefin elongated tape where grid intersections have been fused together. It has superior elastic strength and tears resistance.
